What to Expect from Berner Pest Solutions
Inviting a pest control company into your home is a big decision. Here's the entire process, from your first call to long-term protection, including what products we use and what results you can realistically expect.
- 1
Your First Contact
When you call or submit a quote request, you’ll speak directly with a member of our team, not a national call center or automated system. We’ll ask about the pest you’re seeing, where you’re seeing it, and your property details so we can give you an accurate estimate and show up prepared. We believe in honest, transparent pricing. We don’t quote low to get in the door and upsell once we’re there.
- 2
The Inspection
Every service starts with a thorough inspection. We don’t apply product until we understand what we’re dealing with. That includes pest identification (species guides the entire strategy), harborage assessment, entry point identification, and a review of conducive conditions like moisture issues and vegetation contact. We share what we find with you during the inspection, plus practical recommendations you can address yourself.

The Treatment
Our approach is based on Integrated Pest Management (IPM): the right product, in the right place, at the right time. Targeted application where pests are actually active, pet & family-conscious product selection, and multiple tools: baits, dusts, non-repellent sprays, mechanical exclusion, and physical removal. No “spray and pray.” We’ll tell you which products we’re using, their safety profiles, and any precautions. Most treatments allow you to remain in your home.

After Treatment
General pests (ants, spiders, roaches): significant reduction in 1-2 weeks. Some activity right after treatment is normal as pests are flushed out. Rodents: trapping results within the first week; exclusion results depend on sealing scope. Mosquitoes: noticeable reduction within 24-48 hours, maintained on a 21-day cycle. Bed bugs: steam plus Aprehend biopesticide treatment, with follow-up visits at 2-4 week intervals until the home is confirmed clear (every visit included in the quoted price). Termites (Trelona bait system): active infestations typically resolve within 3-6 months, and annual bait station inspections continue for long-term protection. Stinging insects: colony activity ceases within 24-48 hours.

Our Guarantee
If a pest problem returns between scheduled service visits, we come back and retreat at no additional charge. No fine print. This guarantee applies to our ongoing prevention plans; one-time treatments carry a 30-day guarantee.
Ongoing Protection vs. One-Time Service
Some pest problems are one-and-done: a single wasp nest or a pantry moth issue caught early. But most pest pressure in Central Kentucky is seasonal and recurring: ants every spring, mosquitoes every summer, rodents seeking warmth every fall. Our prevention plans keep a protective perimeter around your home year-round, with visits aligned to seasonal activity: see our Kentucky Pest Calendar for what shows up each month.
